Website Giveaway Guidelines
What is included in the website giveaway package?
The deserving not-for-profit that is chosen by the community will receive the following:
- A custom design tailored just for your business by our creative in-house design team.
- Up to five web pages for a content-loaded, interactive browsing experience.
- • Home page – introduce your organization and solicit donations
- • Success stories page – tell visitors how awesome your organization is
- • History / About – give the visitor background information about your organization
- • Donations – continue your efforts by receiving donations online via PayPal or Google Checkout
- • Contact us – visitors will have access to all your contact information so you don’t miss out on potential relationships
- A full Content Management System so you can easily update the website yourself after it is complete.
- Up to five high quality stock photos
- One custom form to be used as a contact form, submissions form, application, or however you see fit.
- Your website will be search engine optimized so that visitors can find you when searching Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.
- We will host your website for one year at no cost to you
- Email addresses will be included as well. Your organization will benefit from having email addresses that match your website address making them easier for others to remember.
Who is eligible for nominations?
Any not-for-profit within 100 miles of the Louisville metro area that has 501(c)(3) approval and has been established for at least two years.
What is the giveaway process?
- From 12/05/2011 until 01/06/2012, nominations will be collected through a submissions form at http://www.awebsiteforchange.com
- Once nominations close, the staff at Blackstone Media will analyze the submitted not-for-profits and narrow them down to five finalists.
- From 01/16/2012 until 02/17/2012, the finalists and their stories will be posted on the contest homepage for the public to view. We encourage anyone in the community to vote for the cause they believe is the most deserving.
- A winner will be announced at the end of the voting period.
How do I nominate a not-for-profit?
Nominations will be accepted through a submission form on the official contest website from 12/05/2011 until 01/06/2012.
Can I nominate my own not-for-profit?
Yes. If you feel that you have a great cause and meet the eligibility terms, we would love to consider your organization.
How will Blackstone Media gauge the finalist?
The Blackstone Media staff will read all entries and judge the nominees based on:
- Reach of Cause
- Cause Benefits
- Existing Website
- Number of Nominations
Can I vote for an organization multiple times?
Yes. We will allow the same email address to cast a vote once every day.
Will Blackstone Media choose a winner based solely on community votes?
Yes. After we narrow down the nominees to five finalists, the community will choose the winner based on the votes they receive. A counter will be provided on the official contest website’s homepage to track the poll results.
